Van Harte & Lingsma one of the best employers once again
Oegstgeest, 13 April 2012On Thursday evening, Van Harte & Lingsma was awarded the title of one of the best employers in the Netherlands for the fourth year in a row by ‘Great Place to Work’. The training and consultancy agency ended in third place in the category of medium-sized enterprises, two places higher than last year. During the festive event in Het Sieraad in Amsterdam to announce the winners, Paul van Toledo, trainer at Van Harte & Lingsma, accepted the honourable title.
The Great Place to Work Institute® measures the appreciation of employees with regard to five dimensions: credibility, respect, honesty, pride and comradeship. For all five qualities, Van Harte & Lingsma scored higher than the average for the Best Employers of 2011. Furthermore, the appreciation of the employees in total is even higher than that of previous years (89% positive compared to 84% for last year). As well as praising the training agency for its equal treatment and the pleasant work environment, the employees also praised the agency for the trust that the management team places in the employees and the responsibilities that they are given. The dimension in which they scored the highest, like last year, is ‘pride’.
Pride
“This is the fourth year in a row that we have achieved a place in the top 10 and each year we obtain a higher score. We take the results and recommendations of Great Place to Work very seriously and work all year on improvements, ” says Managing Director of Van Harte & Lingsma, Joep C. de Jong. In comparison to last year, the score for the dimension of ‘honesty’ has risen the most. “I am very proud that we are doing so well for the dimension of ‘honesty’ in particular. Honesty and credibility are high priorities at Van Harte & Lingsma, and these dimensions are a logical consequence of two of the five values on which we base our daily practices: love and sustainability. It is fantastic to see that our employees also experience it like this,” concludes De Jong.
About the Great Place to Work® Institute
Each year, the Great Place to Work® Institute initiates in thirty countries worldwide, including the Netherlands, its research into organizations which, according to its own employees, can be regarded as a truly Great Place to Work. On the basis of the five dimensions, judgements are given about the quality of three relations within the organization – firstly, the relation between employees and management; secondly, between employees mutually; and thirdly, between employees and their work. The Dutch list consists of three categories: large enterprises and multinationals (> 250 FTEs), medium-sized enterprises (50-250 FTEs) and small and new enterprises (20-50 FTEs). The ‘Best Employers in the Netherlands’ are decided on the basis of the research scores. www.greatplacetowork.nl
